October was another quiet month for the blog. I suppose I was getting over the trip and I just needed the rest. It was good to take a break and work on myself. Been looking on a diet and started exercising. So far managed to lose 9lbs.
I am in the process of putting together more posts. November will also see me decide where my travels will take me in 2014.

This waterfall is one of many that can be found in the Plitvice Lakes National Park. It is the largest national park in Croatia. It is a beautiful place and I will be writing more about this place in a future post. All I can say is enjoy the photo.

This weeks photo is the view of Split taken from the bell tower.
This photo shows plenty of the old town. You can also see the mountains in the background. The photo was taken on the first day of my recent trip. This was to set the sense for all the trip.

September was quiet in regards to posts. This was because I was on my travels. I returned home on Monday with plenty of photos and posts that I will like to share with you. Naturally, I have no plans for any travel in October.

My apologies for the lack of posts during the past week. I have been too busy enjoying myself on my trip. This week's photo is an ice cream cone that I am about to enjoy.
The flavour is called Jaffa. (Chocolate & Orange) and it tasted delicious.

I did not get to total the twitter figures for August.
As you can see August was a quiet month. However, September is going to be a busier month. After all the planning I will be flying to Split next Monday. For the next three weeks I will be making my way through the Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, Slovenia and finishing up in Zagreb. The excitement I am feeling cannot be described. I will keep you updated of my travels with stories and photos.
Until the next post stay safe, stay healthy and keep smiling.

August is going to be a quiet month. I will be doing very little as my trip to the Balkans is now only a month away. I did experience some lows in July but I am now over that. As always it is a case of moving forward.

The Schönbrunn Palace is one of the most visited attractions in Vienna. In 2011 it attracted over 2½ million visitors. Schönbrunn literally means ‘beautiful spring’. The palace was the summer residence of the Habsburgs.
Schönbrunn Palace
My visit took place in March but I could why it is so popular. There were plenty of visitors from all around the world. Visiting on a Sunday meant it felt full and there was some queuing involved. A visit to the Schönbrunn consists of two areas. The palace itself and the gardens.
The Entrance to the Palace.
When touring the palace be aware that you may be hearing the information through the audio guide as you heard in the Imperial Apartments at the Hofburg. Also you are unable to take any photographs. In fact you are not allowed to take any bags into the palace. The tour itself was fascinating and there were some interesting exhibits. However, I felt it do not last too long and was value for money.
My mood changed when I went into the gardens. This is the real attraction of the Schönbrunn. Despite it being March and weather was a little chilly the gardens looked magnificent. I must have spent at least three exploring. There were paths leading off to the zoo and woods. When you climb the hill towards the Gloriette you are treated to splendid views. I found myself taking plenty of photographs.

I made my way up to the Gloriette. Maybe it is just me but I was disappointed to see it used as a cafe.
The Gloriette
Overall, I enjoyed my visit to the Schönbrunn Palace, especially the gardens. Sure they would look better in the summer but I feel that it could be too crowded to enjoy. I was glad that I visited in March.
